TomTom XXL 540S

The TomTom XXL 540S is one of two portable navigation devices released in the United States and Canada during October of 2009. It is a direct upgrade from the 530S, in that it adds along a high-quality black finish; preloaded maps of the United States, Canada, AND Mexico; and Advanced Lane Guidance, which offers realistic representations of complex highway junctions.

Like its peer, it features a large 5” color touchscreen and IQ Routes, which calculates the fastest travel time based on historical data—as in the amount of traffic that typically occurs on a road at a specific time. The 540S also utilizes a user-friendly user menu with an elegant interface combined with optimized icons; TomTom MapShare technology for modifying street names/directions/POIs; and TomTom HOME, a free desktop application that keeps the unit updated at all times. Also note TomTom’s EasyPort integrated suction cup mount.
