This model does utilize voice prompts when directing the driver to their destination, but it also displays a 3-D map, and 3-D building view on its 4.3” WQVGA colour TFT with white backlight. What separates this model from the Nuvi 700 Series, is the MSN Direct receiver. The MSN Direct receiver is a travel assistant tool that keeps the user updated on weather, gas prices, local movie listings and other useful travel information. Additionally, using Bluetooth technology along with a compatible cell-phone, hands free calls can be made, and with the FM TMC receiver, the user has the ability to forecast traffic issues or delays. The Nuvi 785T also doubles as an entertainment tool, with MP3 Playback, JPEG picture viewing and FM transmitter. The battery life, though rechargeable, is 5 hours, and the unit weighs 6.2 ounces. Lastly, for security purposes, an anti-theft feature using Garmin Lock protects the Nuvi 785T along with the location of the auto in the event of it being stolen.
