Up to 4 times a year, users can log onto the Garmin website and update the unit's firmware via USB connectivity. These updates also include new points of interest (POIs), a growing number of over 6-million gas, food and entertainment locations located throughout Canada and the US. Turn-by-turn directions with spoken-word street names are provided, offering comprehensive navigation assistance with minimal complication. The Nuvi's Lane Assist and Junction View functions help to further minimize potential confusion when approaching a major city, providing users with a simulated 3D view of upcoming exits and off-ramps with on-screen arrows to illustrate precisely which lanes to use. Drivers are also provided with a constant view of their current speed alongside the maximum limit for the given area, while remaining "distance to destination" data can be displayed in either time or proximity-based formats. All necessary materials are provided, including a suction cup and power cable for quick connectivity as well as a USB cable for online support.
