Garmin nuvi 3490LMT

The Nuvi 3490LMT sits at the top of the 3400 series of GPS units from Garmin. It comes equipped with expected basic features such as spoken street names and commands, preloaded maps and 3D landmarks, but also inculdes some advanced features to facilitate easier navigation and safer driving.

The 3490LMT has the same functions as the 3450 and 3450LM but also includes free lifetime map upgrades (upto 4 times per year) and free lifetime Traffic updates using Digital 3D Traffic. Digital 3D traffic updates every 30 seconds over the HD broadcasting system making it easier to avoid jams. The Nuvi 3450LMT also features voice recognition technology which enables the driver to verbally work through the menu and keep both hands on the wheel. The preloaded maps, 3D landmarks and points of interest are all displayed on the 4.3 inch touchscreen display and in dual orientation. This model features Garmin Guidance 3.0 which is an advanced navigation engine designed to make route planning fast and accurate. This system gives detailed lane guidance and a variety of views at complicated junctions including Bird's Eye and photoReal views. This 3490LMT unit also features Bluetooth technology and the Safe Text feature to keep you in touch while driving. With Where am I?, Garmin Locate and enhanced pedestrian navigation, and a microSD card slot to store CityXplorer maps, navigating around unfamiliar towns and cities will be easier and safer. This Nuvi 3490LMT unit is less than 9mm thick making it slimline, lightweight and stylish whether on your dashboard or in your hand.
