The Nuvi 205W is a mid-range GPS device released by Garmin in June 2008. This product is relatively similar to its 2007 predecessor, the Nuvi 200W. While the 205W retains the same form-factor and many of the same features, it does introduce several new technologies as seen throughout the majority of 2008’s Nuvi product line.

The 205W can save a total of 1000 custom locations and waypoints, 500 more than its predecessor. This GPS also features free (ad-supported) lifetime FM traffic updates, as well as MSN Direct support for traffic and content services. The 205W can also find the closest essential services (hospitals, police and gas stations) as well as the nearest addresses and intersections. Compared to the older 2007 Nuvi models, the 205W also features photo navigation so one can use landmarks for added confidence when navigating. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery should suffice for the average trip, lasting approximately 4 hours.
