Garmin GPSMAP 276C
$500.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:3.8" display is bright and crisp, fairly viewable in direct sunlight. Includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with excellent life on a single charge (about 15 hours). Lightweight, compact design and extended battery life make this a good choice for on-foot GPS use as well.
The Cons:Uses Garmin's proprietary memory cards for expansion which are small and expensive. Detailed road maps have to be bought separately and loaded on. Car adapter is of dubious quality--cheap, plastic construction.
