It includes Garmin's Virtual Partner feature, which enables competition with a digital opponent, and data can be transferred via USB cable to a computer. This can then be used in Garmin Connect, Garmin's online analysis community, or Garmin Training Center software. The GPS component includes pre-loaded basemaps and a microSD slot to expand detailed road maps or topographical maps for off-road riding. This sets it apart from Garmin's Edge 305 and 205 models, which do not and cannot display maps. The Edge 605 also offers 1000 lap storage, 100 waypoint locations, and potential to save routes.
